Cash only! Incredible food, simple menu... tacos, burritos, tortas. Service was quick, order up at the cashier and they bring it to your table. No nonsense, not a frilly fancy place, but I was happy to see so many happy plants in the front window of this place. Really great burritos... I had chicken and the rest of my family had carne asada. Highly recommend for when you are hungry for one of these 3 items! A side note, the ladies restroom, although not the fanciest, was really clean. And I liked the sticker on the mirror and took a picture!

This place was so lively for a Thursday night at 8 PM! Everything about this spot is incredible. The wonderful worker at the register gave us two incredible recommendations for the sangria soda and the Horchata. It was my first time having Horchata and it was the most delicious thing I've ever had! Their burritos stayed intact the entire time. Everything was so fresh tasting. I think it may have been some of the best guacamole I've ever had. I would buy the salsa verde in bulk. I got the Chile Relleno and it was good and different for me. I think next time I would get it in a taco form, but it was still delicious. My partner got the steak burrito and he said the steak flavorful and tender and juicy. I'm excited for it to be summertime so I can grab a burrito and sit outside! It is cash only and they do have an ATM there but come prepared.

Full house Saturday night. Phone lines busy so no call ahead avail. Arrived & ordered burrito Al pastor, 2 carne asada tacos. Tables filled w taco lovers, to go line moving. 15 min & $25 later out the door. Great food. I like salty but giving 4 stars as the meat was over salted imho and I had a small piece of gristle in burrito. Salsa verde & roja were on the liquidy side but good. All in, solid experience.

This place is no frills but providing a really quality product. There are a few seats if you want to dine in. You order and pick up your food from the counter. The staff behind the counter was friendly. Since this place was recently sponsored by social media influencers it was kinda packed. I'm not sure if it's the norm, but I hope for their sake that this is the case. Their asada tacos are legit! My wife also enjoyed the pastor. My son got the asada torta and absolutely devoured it. Like most things these days the prices are a little higher than I've been accustomed to but they're not skimping on portions or quality so I'm fine with it. Definitely check this place out if you're in the Lincoln Square area.

Baby these tacos hit! HIT! It's very hard to find a great taco place in the city. I don't care what anyone says. There's so many things to consider but they check the boxes! If a spot can make a killer steak taco, that's how you know it's good. And boy oh boy can they do that here. We randomly stumbled across this place for tacos and I'm so glad that we did. 1. Cash only. There's an atm in here if you don't have cash on you. 2. It's always cracking. People are in and out and that's how you know it's good. 3. The beans and rice were amazing! You can taste the fatty goodness of that lard in the beans and rice was soft and seasoned well. 4. Chips-absolutely fantastic. When chips are fried and they have those air pockets in them?! That's how they do em here! 5.Salsa. Both green and red were banging but they are spicy so if you can't stand the heat....just have some water near by. 6. Steak tacos. You can taste the smoke from the grill on the meat which is absolutely freaking delicious! That meat is juicy, tender and so flavorful. You honestly don't even need the cilantro and onion and it's still good. Now if they added a little oil to the taco shell when frying them, I would probably camp outside!

I'm all for trying out new restaurants and with a craving for Mexican we came by Taqueria El Asadero. It is a bit of a hole in the wall and they only accept cash, but the food was fantastic. I got three carne asada tacos and was completely filled up. My girlfriend loved her el pastor tacos as well. If you're in the area, I highly encourage stopping in and grabbing a bite.

I was pumped last week when I had some cash (normally low on physical cash on hand) and decided to treat myself to this cash only Mexican spot for some really tasty dinner. I'm normally an Al Pastor gal, but decided to also try their Carne Asada as its what they're known for. I got one of each of those tacos, a side of rice & beans, and a side of guacamole. I thought the guacamole (small, not side) came with chips, but I didn't realize they weren't included until I got home. Not a big deal as I had a bag open I wanted to use up. But something I'll keep in mind next time to check before I leave. (You can always dine in, too, but at peak times it'll probably be busy. There are a decent number of tables with booths, not unlike a diner.) I think I'm a convert (here, at least) for the carne over the pastor! The guacamole is super fresh and really tasty. I liked the pastor but the carne was better. Oddly enough, I really liked the side of rice and beans with cheese. Simple but so comforting! Keep in mind: CASH ONLY! P.S. I'm a baby with spice heat, so get lots of green and red salsa if you like the fire!

THE BEST CARNE ASADA TACOS ON THE NW SIDE OF CHICAGO. PERIOD. Grew up on this place and not much has changed, especially being cash only. May have to do some manual math because you don't get a receipt sometimes FYI. Their crunchy chips and salsa are a delicious blend of heaven. They also offer a variety of drinks including Guava Jarrito- a rariety! I've heard good things about all of their food but I always stick with their carne. Tastes like a summer time block party -fresh off the grill!

We came here at around 11pm on a Friday night. They were pretty busy with a lot of takeout orders. We decided to dine. The crew here was great. It was late at night, they still had smiles and the kitchen was bumping some good music. Don't forget it is also CASH ONLY. I ordered a carne Asada taco and a lengua taco. Both were very delicious. They use skirt steak of their Asada and fill the tacos up with meat. The lengua was cut thick, and was cooked perfectly. Very tender and flavorful. I put some red salsa on the Asada taco and green salsa on the lengua. My wife ordered an Al pastor taco and it was just as delicious. They also give you chips and salsa when dining in. Will definitely be returning when in the area.
